Representation of Sexuality.

The scene starts out with a tracking shot of the crew of detectives descending into a underground club via some stairs. the women of the group is the first down the stairs suggesting that she is the higher power of the group. this also suggests that she is the active member of the group and is a masculine female. along with this we can see the men behind her laughing and joking which implies that they're the passive one's in this situation. which is a counter stereotype as typically it is the male's that take the active role and women are seen as passive. upon arriving in the club and realiasing that it's a homosexual bar for men. the women acts like it's normal while the others start freaking out. this suggests that homsexuality was shunned in that time period. using mise en scene. from the clothes that some of the people in the club are wearing and the music being playerd in the background. we can infer that the scene takes place in the 1980's. when homosexuality was looked down upon. this goes the with men's reaction to finding out it is. they head back up the stairs with a median shot. further implicating their passive stance in the situation.

Next, a POV shot is used to show the women's perspective of the man they are looking to apprehend and how he is having another man twerk near him. this shows the off homosexuals as humorous because he's doing something unorthodox to society and would as as abnormal which is typically funny.

Afterwards. an over the shoulder shot is used to show the antagonist kiss a person who was brought over by the women. this supports the stereotype that homosexuals are heavily sexualised through a male gaze. furthermore cross-cutting is used to show that the man is resentful of women and talks down to her. by calling her "sweetcheeks". along with the Asynchronous sound that plays. it shows the man feels victimized by the women because of his sexuality and is therefore scornful towards women. this is also shown through the male gaze which is a stereotype of sexuality in that homosexual men don't like women at all.
